Propack was founded in May 1996 by Chris Follows
primarily to bring added value to the Customer
base. Follows used his extensive experience and
industry background to assemble a team of
professionals with strong packaging knowledge in all
facets of the business including Engineering,
Packaging Systems Integration, Controls
integrations, Service and Sales.
Propacks primary business originally consisted
of sales and support of Tevopharm In Holland and
Premier Suppliers of Horizontal form fill seal
machines as well as Bartelt, American Manufactures
of pouching machines.
After assembling such a strong team, Propack
predicted that traditional endload Cartoning
equipment would move to topload style cartoning,
allowing the end user more flexibility in package
format ie ,trays, cartons, multipacks. This would
further provide quick changeover from the
traditional endload cartoning to a more flexible
topload style.
Propack, with the financial backing of one of its
customers, transitioned into manufacturing of top
load robotic systems, selling the first two machines
in 1998. The first LJ 500 was built in Canada and
was in full production in 1999.
Kevin Crosby joined Propack in 2001 as a Partner .
Crosby’s career started in Robotics in 1984 where
Crosby worked with a team installing and supporting
some 550 robots. In 1994 Crosby joined Effem Foods,
leaving as Engineering Manager in 2001 to join the
Propack team. Kevin has lead the team technically
to develop one of the worlds fastest pick and place
systems for the confectionery and meal supplementary
markets.
Propack, as the founder of the LJ Robotic loader, also works
with Autowrappers as their representative -
selling and supporting the Autowrappers Flowwrappers.
